Levens Playing Fields fundraising efforts are off to a £73,000+ flying start

At the time of writing a whopping £73,000 has already been raised towards the revamp of the tarmac courts.

Recently, £600 was raised by Levens Arts and Film Society at a concert, generously supported by The Little Arrow String Band and Fiona Clucas back in early May. Levens Playing Fields said: “Raising large amounts of money can be hard going at times, so it feels great to be supported by other groups in the village”.

Additionally, £631 of proceeds were donated at the infamous Levens Plant Sale event on 18th May.

Levens Playing Fields said: “Thank you so much to the Hayes family, Caths Garden Plants and Arnside Guides for organising [the event] and donating £631 of the proceeds.

This comes on the back of news unveiled on 15th May 2024 that Levens Playing Fields recently received an enormous £20,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund towards the renovation of their tarmac courts.

Levens Playing Fields in a post on their Facebook Page said:

“This is a game changer and means that the vast majority of our planned work will be completed this summer. Thanks The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re over the moon!”.
