Levens Arts & Film Society presents ‘The Dreamtime Fellrunner’

  • Levens Village Hall Kendal, England, LA8 8NL United Kingdom (map)

When: Saturday 28th March, 8pm (doors open 7.30pm)
Where: Levens Village Hall
Tickets: adult £12, U18s £6

Written and performed by Julie Carter, The Dreamtime Fellrunner is a poetic, fun and moving exploration of Julie’s running exploits on the Lakeland fells.

Presenting fellrunning as a type of land art and spiritual practice, this is an aesthetic performance which allows people to experience the beauty of a wonderful sport, regardless of their degree of familiarity with the fells and running.

Emphasising body-mind-spirit-place connections, the Dreamtime Fellrunner encounters themes of feminism, land rights, ageism and ableism, history and literature, while carrying us on a journey through the Lakeland fells.

Directed by Daniel Bye (These Hills are Ours, Imaginary Friends, Arthur), The Dreamtime Fellrunner is a Mindfell Production in association with Theatre by the Lake.

In particular it will appeal to anyone interested in wellbeing, body-mind connection and the ways in which we inhabit our environments.

“Authentic, unique and full of vitality, a special theatrical experience.”

– Liz Stevenson, Artistic Director, Theatre by the Lake.

“Julie Carter has the ability to captivate people with her crafting of words, that express the deepest emotions which have you laughing and crying.”

– Karen Morley-Chesworth. Cumbria24.com

“I love a show that opens me up to new things and makes me think and this show did all of that and more.”
